A £50,000 funding boost from Ecclesiastical Insurance has helped the Trust achieve its aims of creating a new social space at the Linskill Centre. In 2020, the Trust was one of ten charities selected out of more than 1,000 entries to be awarded a £50,000 boost as part of Ecclesiastical’s annual Movement for Good awards which gives £1million to charities. Entitled Project Langley the proposal was to transform an old IT Suite into a social serviced space to meet the needs of its community.
The Trust is delighted to welcome Activate Physiotherapy into the Linskill Centre in North Shields, as they hope to capitalise on the current demand for physiotherapy services in the local area. The larger premises at Linskill provides the team of experienced therapists with access to increased treatment space, dedicated gym area and room to utilise a range of diagnostic tools for gait scanning and biomechanical assessment.
A local painter is working in Linskill Nursey to create a wall mural that reflects its nature-inspired curriculum, sense of community and an appreciation of the the environment.
Only a couple of days in and the mural is starting to take shape and when finished it will provide an educational and uplifting start and close of the day for the children, parents, carers and staff.
A big thank you to White Knight Maintenance Limited for sponsoring the new eco-friendly uniforms for Linskill Nursery. In keeping with our nature-inspired nursery the new shirts are sage green with our new Linskill Nursery, North Shields logo proudly displayed. The nursery team love their new uniforms and the parents, carers and children have all commented on how smart they look.

Today saw another step completed in the Trust’s recovery roadmap with Cafe 32 opening its doors today to the community of North Tyneside. It was great to see the return of familiar faces as tenants, volunteers and class participants took the opportunity to have a coffee and a chat or indeed stay for lunch. There were also a lot of new visitors today as more and more classes and groups start to return to Linskill – a positive start to the week.
Exciting news as after many months of being closed and undergoing a refurbishment, Cafe 32 will open its doors on Monday 17th May!
With a new logo and decor you will be able to see the changes for yourself, receive a free treat with every coffee ordered (until Friday 21st May) and a warm welcome from the team at Cafe 32.
Opening hours will be Monday to Friday from 8am – 4pm (no hot food orders after 3pm).
Look forward to seeing you soon!
Last weekend and with just three weeks notice the team at Linskill helped turn a local couple’s wedding reception plans into a reality. In accordance with restrictions a marquee was located within the grounds of Trevelyan Hall and dressed for the occasion. A select group of family and friends celebrated safely with the Bride and Groom, making it a day to remember.
Our team are happy to help and can be contacted on 0191 257 8000, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our website www.linskill.org/weddings

The makeover of Cafe 32 and the development of the Langley Room are progressing well. The new connecting doors have been installed between the two rooms and the decorators are finishing off the fabulous new colour schemes. Then it will be time to refurbish the floor, install the audio-visual along with the new modular furniture – hopefully all in time for May 17th.
Some delightful Easter cards made by the children in the Squirrels Room at Linskill Nursery – providing a lovely image for the Trust and the team at Linskill to wish all of our community a Happy Easter.
