This year the ever popular Linskill Book Fair will run from Friday 17th May until Sunday 19th May, providing plenty of opportunity to pop down and buy some books. Our team of volunteers have worked tirelessly to collect and collate the thousands of donated books into genres, hopefully to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.
This year there will be a new ‘Treasures Section’ featuring a number of identified collectable books, which will be on sale at prices reflecting their researched value.
Also new to the Book Fair this year will be a sensory free hour from 10-11am on the Sunday morning.
On Saturday 18th May there will be storytelling sessions with Chris Bostock: a session at 11am for under 8 years and a session at 1pm for over 8 years (entry fee £2.50).
Over the three days there will be a pop up Cafe 32 (9am-2pm in the hall) providing refreshments for visitors, collectors and those who simply like to peruse at leisure and enjoy the book sale experience. As an added element of surprise the Cafe 32 team have hidden ‘golden tickets’ within a selection of books and the lucky purchaser can win a prize, ranging from a free coffee, cake or even a meal.
This year more elements have been added to the Book Fair to make it more family-orientated, including a children’s section with story-telling sessions and creative writing group the Scribblers have organised a children’s writing competition with prizes to be won.
Get the dates in your diary and support Linskill by stocking up on your reading materials. The Book Fair is the annual fundraiser event for the Trust and all the proceeds are reinvested into the Linskill Centre and its community services and activities.
