Linskill’s Christmas Programme this year is a combination of seasonal events and activities for children, families and adults – so hopefully something for everyone. Booking is recommended as some activities and events have limited spaces – call 0191 257 8000 or visit reception to book early and avoid disappointment. For more information on each event or activity click here.
The Encompass programme has been running for over a year and is aimed at people aged from 18 years plus to access activities based around employability, health, well-being, learning and skills development. The programme is developed in partnership with local providers to enhance the Linskill Centre’s existing activities programme and Helen Collins, newly appointed Project Worker is looking to extend the diversity of activities by launching a range of new activities: Read More

Big Bike Revival – few things in life are better than a cycle ride, whether it’s to visit friends, a daily commute or a trip into the countryside – but it can be hard to get started. Around 42% of people in the UK own bikes but don’t ever use them – maybe because the bike has a flat tyre and no idea how to repair it, maybe lacking in confidence or the the skills and knowledge to ride safely. The Big Bike Revival is all about overcoming those little barriers and to help you feel more confident about cycling. The programme is entering its fifth year with events across the country providing free cycle checks, servicing, cycle maintenance workshops, cycle training and accompanied rides.
This year the ever popular Linskill Book Fair will run from Friday 17th May until Sunday 19th May, providing plenty of opportunity to pop down and buy some books. Our team of volunteers have worked tirelessly to collect and collate the thousands of donated books into genres, hopefully to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.
This year there will be a new ‘Treasures Section’ featuring a number of identified collectable books, which will be on sale at prices reflecting their researched value.
Also new to the Book Fair this year will be a sensory free hour from 10-11am on the Sunday morning.
On Saturday 18th May there will be storytelling sessions with Chris Bostock: a session at 11am for under 8 years and a session at 1pm for over 8 years (entry fee £2.50).
The Easter Fair will open from 11am to 3pm on Saturday at the Linskill Centre with a programme of activities for families to join in with and have fun:
- *Easter Egg Hunt – solve the clues and win a prize (all day)
- Craft and gift stalls (all day)
- Signed Sing Along performance from Deaf Awareness:NE (12 noon)
- Free magic show with Mr Merlin (1pm)
This year the Easter Fair will take place on Saturday 20th April from 11am to 3pm at the Linskill Centre and is sponsored by local estate agent Richardsons.
This free entry event will again be focused on activities for all the family including the infamous Linskill Easter Egg Hunt with clues to take the children around the building and win an Easter Egg (there will be two egg hunts one in the morning at 11.30am and one in the afternoon at 2pm).
There will performances from local groups on the main stage along with craft and gift stalls in Trevelyan Hall.
Hopefully, there will be an appearance (weather permitting) form the very popular Blackberry Donkeys
The new Linskill soft play area and V-bomber will be available in the Burnett Hall for under 5’s.
The star of the show will be Mr Merlin’s free magic show for the children on the main stage at 1pm.
