Linskill is very excited to be partnering up with the Google Digital Garage Bus tour – providing opportunities for anyone to come and learn how to harness the power of the internet to grow their business, learn more about the internet, or develop new vocational skills. The Google Digital Garage Bus will next stop at Linskill on Thursday 13th June from 9am to 4pm.

This year the ever popular Linskill Book Fair will run from Friday 17th May until Sunday 19th May, providing plenty of opportunity to pop down and buy some books. Our team of volunteers have worked tirelessly to collect and collate the thousands of donated books into genres, hopefully to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.
This year there will be a new ‘Treasures Section’ featuring a number of identified collectable books, which will be on sale at prices reflecting their researched value.
Also new to the Book Fair this year will be a sensory free hour from 10-11am on the Sunday morning.
On Saturday 18th May there will be storytelling sessions with Chris Bostock: a session at 11am for under 8 years and a session at 1pm for over 8 years (entry fee £2.50).
The Easter Fair will open from 11am to 3pm on Saturday at the Linskill Centre with a programme of activities for families to join in with and have fun:
- *Easter Egg Hunt – solve the clues and win a prize (all day)
- Craft and gift stalls (all day)
- Signed Sing Along performance from Deaf Awareness:NE (12 noon)
- Free magic show with Mr Merlin (1pm)
Every year when our volunteers start checking and collating books for the Book Fair, they inevitably find a range of photographs that have been inserted into the pages of books, possibly used as bookmarks or put there for safe-keeping and then forgotten about. Our volunteer team are keen to return these photographs to their rightful owners as they appreciate many photographs reflect key moments in time and may hold fond memories for their owners or family members.
Using the power of social media we are hoping the photos in this gallery will be recognised – so if any of the above images belong to you please email email@example.com.
Simeon Ripley, Chief Executive of the Trust receiving a cheque from Terence Took, President of Whitley Bay Rotary Club, towards the installation of hearing loops within the Linskill Centre. The donation along with support from other organisations has helped the centre reach its target. Installation of the hearing loops is planned for early May and will be much appreciated by the many customer and user groups within Linskill.
This year the Easter Fair will take place on Saturday 20th April from 11am to 3pm at the Linskill Centre and is sponsored by local estate agent Richardsons.
