… child development through play
Lights, textures and sounds are all combined in one room to help aid the development of children under five years old. The Sensory Room provides an environment to stimulate primary senses, build emotional resilience and improve learning. The £10k project was funded with generous contributions from North Shields Rotary Club, Newcastle Building Society, Community Foundation for Tyne and Wear, Prime Fund, Carriers for Causes, Children’s Foundation and Waitrose (Eldon Square).
The Sensory Room can accommodate up to ten adults and ten children at any one time making it ideal for individual, group usage or private hire for children’s parties. The Sensory Room offers parents, carers and other nursery groups an opportunity to explore and develop sensory learning with children within a community environment.
