‘No Time For Waste’ Environment Day at Linskill

The Linskill Centre is hosting a free family event – ‘No Time For Waste’ – on Sunday 25 February from 10am to 4pm, to help people live and shop in a more planet-friendly way.
Partially funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority, the event has been organised by Jackie Sewell and her daughter Rachel, founders of the plastic-free and zero-waste shop ‘Buy The Kilo’, in Tynemouth Metro Station. The event is a celebration of the resilience of small eco-friendly businesses in the area, especially after lockdown, but also a chance for people to talk about a greener way of life.
The centre will be filled with stalls not only from local businesses but also from several organisations offering information stalls, talks, workshops, arts and crafts, film showings, and activities for the whole family. Two of Linskill Trust’s volunteer led programmes will be taking part on the day. Join the Upcycle Gardeners for a tour of their garden or buy a homemade, bespoke gift made by The Shedders.
